Nigeria Security And Civil Defense Corp Abia state command has arrested two suspects in possession of 20,000 litres of crude oil on their way from Port Harcourt to Imo State.
The two suspected oil vandals named Banjo Ayo and Charlse Nwachukwu who is also a mechanic was nabbed after intercepted at Obehie in Ukwa West Local Government Area and asked to drive to the NSCDC exhibit station Isialangwa LGA by the Search and Surveillance Team of NSCDC for a proper search and 20,000 litres of crude oil was found in their truck.
While narrating, one of the suspects Banjo Ayo said that he joined the illegal crude oil business out of ignorance while his accomplice Charlse Nwachukwu told the NSCDC that he was forced into the deal out of hunger.
In a statement by the State Commandant, Dr. Benito Eze proved resilience and stated that they have vowed in this war on oil vandalism, to those stealing the country's money and dwindling the Economy and would not rest until the perpetrators are wiped out completely.
